There isn’t much to update. She’s done with her heatworm treatment, and the meds that go along with it. She loves being around people and crowds. So, yeah, still not sure what kind of asshole would dump her, but their loss. The only issue we’ve had behavior wise, is that she has started barking more the past few days, and that was after a lot of family left after visiting for a few days.

I would have adopted her 4 years ago had I not already adopted a German Shepard

I want to be friends with this dog.

Well, she wouldn’t have existed 4 years ago :)

How old is she?

Rescues are the best!

I’m glad to hear she’s over the heartworm and the barking will calm down, maybe it was having so many people around and readjusting to those people no longer being there.

You did a good thing. She looks like a great dog.

3ish. Her chip was injected around 3 years ago.

She’s a good friend!

I think it may be that, and she is getting over being on steroids. That and the other dogs have been barking more around us. Nature is out and about making strange noises in the woods. Alternatively, she could just be mad that she hasn’t caught a squirrel yet.

What heartless monster/down on luck sucker abandoned her?

She is great! She’s loyal and affectionate almost to a fault.

Breeders and fighters. She has leg scars and a couple of various other scars. She isn’t very big, and she isn’t dog aggressive at all, so I assume they got a litter out of her and dumped her.

I’m not sure you really adopt a German Sheppard; I think it’s more like they adopt you. At least that was the experience our head of household security.

Not a tummy rub so much as a nipple rub.

Lol.
The vet kept calling her a he while she was there, I was tempted to turn her over and tell them to count the penises.

I have no idea why everyone has such trouble with that. You can tell 90% of the time unless it is a very fluffy dog.

I had a pit who was the same way. She wanted nothing more than to be next to me. When my son was born she was never far from him either. He used to complain about it until he realized that she just liked him and he could use her as a big pillow. Seeing your pics makes me want to get another! You’re a lucky man.

She is very clearly female, as they sag a bit.

DO IT! Tons are out there looking for a new friend!

Who gets a chip and doesn’t want the dog back? Is there backstory I’m missing here?

I’m guessing she was a business expense. When she was found she had some wounds and was close to starving, on top of recently having pups. She also has bite mark scars on her legs and scars on her side. She had two chips actually, both numbers deactivated.

I wish I could. With my current schedule it wouldn’t be fair to anyone involved. I am gone from 6am to 6pm five days a week.

Now that I think about it, you’re right. Mine sleeps in my bed before I even get to, hops in the driver seat before anyone else does, and will bark at anyone who’s trying sell us anything. SHE owns us

So it was a heartless monster.

Get used to it. I would walk my girl doggy around with a pink leash and rhinestone-festooned collar and people would compliment me on my “handsome boy.”

Congratulations to both of you! Pitties are so cuddly and affectionate. She looks like a lovely girl and I’m glad she has a good home.
You won’t believe how awful people can be. There are so many good, loving dogs out there that people have abandoned. Humanity does not deserve dogs.
